Beef Pot Roast

Reheating Instructions

Remove cardboard sleeve and plastic film from black microwave safe tray before reheating.  

Heat in Simmering Water

1. Fill 3 quart pot with 5 cups of water and bring to a boil.
2. Place unopened beef pouch into boiling water and turn heat down to medium.
3. Heat beef in simmering water for 11 minutes.
4. Carefully remove pouch from hot water and allow to rest for 3 minutes.
5. Open pouch and slide beef and juices onto a serving plate and serve as is or keep meat warm while thickening juices for a gravy*.


Microwave

1. Place beef pouch in the microwave safe tray and pierce 6 times. Place in the center of the microwave and heat on HIGH for 4 minutes.
2. Remove plate from microwave and allow to rest for 2 - 3 minutes.
3. Open pouch (Caution: Contents are extremely hot, handle carefully) and slide beef and juices onto a serving plate and serve as is or keep meat warm while thickening juices for a gravy*.
 

*To Thicken Gravy: Combine 1 tsp cornstarch with 2 Tbsps of red wine (water may be used in place of wine); mix well. In a saucepan, bring juices to a simmer while whisking in the wine and cornstarch mixture. Remove from heat. For a rich effect, turn off heat and finish the sauce by whisking in 1 tsp of unsalted chilled butter before serving sauce with meat.
